∞ Pitchify - an aid to new music listening
Seeing as Spotify has now ‘Officially’ gone corporate with their lastes changes to the quantity of music that one can listen to, it seems we will have to jump ship altogether or modify the way we use it.
Aside from PAYING (maybe when i have an income!) ‘new music’ is now the mode for Spotify, with a limit of five plays per song (ever?). That is of course music, new to you, and not necessarily ‘fresh out the box’ new.
And so, to make our lives easier, a nice chap called anders created Pitchify. This website gathers reviews from Pitchfork and Drowned in Sound averages them, and if they are above 8 (roughly) finds out if they are available on Spotify.
Awesome, highly rated new music! But watch out for Pitchforks taste for ‘noisier’ genre’s as well, can be quite a surprise if you just spent an hour listening to some dreamy Icelandic songstress….
